Original Introduction - honeymoon camping

It started many years ago when the three kids were young, and we thought camping would be fun. After loading all our stuff on top of Elliott's old Corolla and stopping every 15 minutes to check that the stuff was still on the roof, we decided to buy a pop-up. Oh, right one more step along the way...we took them to DisneyWorld for our honeymoon with Jo's dad's Caddy. All would have been fine had it not wanted to start when we were all set to go home. After getting it started, we were then afraid to shut if off so...we drove from Florida to Massachusetts without shutting off the car.

 We bought the pop-up used and it served us well. 

The kids loved amusement parks and they got to see much of the east coast of the U.S. and into Canada including Niagara Falls and Shediack, the lobster capital of the world!

Cancer: I'm Scared

2/21/2022 I don't know what triggered this feeling. I have been fine. Last night we were with the grandkids, other grandparents, the grandkids' parents and a couple of others. Maybe being in such a happy gathering did it. I am not going to speculate but I came home and cried.  I cried for my daughters and my best friend who lives on the other side of the country. I cried in fear of what I would hear from the BRCA test. I cried for what was.

After Surgery: What is it like

 3/15/2022 Although I am on pain meds and a little loopy, I wanted to get my surgery day down before I forget. I don't know if this is the protocol of all breast surgeries, but I saw a lot of people!  At 7:45 I was taken into the pre-op area where I was asked my name and birthdate a dozen times. So many times, that when a woman walked in, I just said my name and birthdate. She laughed and said that she knew my name but not my birthdate. "I'm Dr. Baker." Well of course I didn't recognize her. I only met her one time, and she had a net on her head and a mask and plastic covering her face. She had on scrubs so there was no white coat. In any case I was asked by lots of nurses health questions, got an IV put in with at some point saline and an antibiotic and off I went to Nuclear Medicine and saw a machine that looked like it was from outer space.
