Not such a great week and quotes

except for the first time in years, I woke up not tired. I have no idea why.  I'm starting to get red. We are having CA family problems I will be on a medication for 5 to 10 years.  My sleeve is so tight. The woman who fit me told me to come in. I know she will blame us for how it is being put on, but I will show it to Dr. K. tomorrow. \To sum up my weeks here are some memes: 6 Types of People Who Love Playing the Victim & How to Deal with Them - Learning Mind (learning-mind.com) “If they stay away during your hard times, they should also stay away during your great times.” ―  Gift Gugu Mona

Compression OMG should it be so tight??

May 10, 2022 I finished day 6 of my radiation treatments. Twenty-four to go. OMG! They are not that bad or uncomfortable. I don't have trouble holding my breath. It is more of facing reality. So far so good regarding burns or unusual changes in my skin.  I took my "prescription" for compression items to the local Medical Supply Company. Maybe they should have given me a size 2 I think my arm is getting numb.  There were questions about which glove and if I need a bra or t-shirt so I will go back after we have those answers. I REALLY don't want lymphedema so if this stops it I will wear it for as long as they tell me.  These compression items are only supposed to last 6 months and then I need to buy a new one. The new one is not going to be boring beige that's for sure and many times less costly than the one I have.

What a Day! Day 1

May 3, 2022 Started the day at 8a.m. with a meeting for lymphedema. Spent 1 1/2 hours with a nurse who poked, measured and talked with us.  I am writing this for me because I want to keep track of my symptoms. We will go to a medical supply store for compression items. I have my measurements in case I buy something online. Hoping that insurance will pay because four items is over $500.00.  I was sent home with a bunch of exercises to do and to try to keep lymphedema at bay. I will do those and walked with the Elliott and the doggies this morning, The dogs had gone to the groomer, so we picked them up and Elliott surprised me.  From there we took them home and turned around for #1 radiation. It was very much like the dry run just more deep breaths and radiation running through my chest. Pretty sucky really.  Got Willie for our cross-country trip just to make sure he is in working order.  Last night there was some swelling under my armpit and this morning I was nauseous 😢

Day 0 of radiation treatment

May 2, 2022 It's been a while but it is HERE NOW!! This morning we met with a very nice P.A., Alicia, who spent an hour with us teaching us more than I ever thought I would need to know about the dreadful lymphedema! That wasn't enough; however. We then went home and watched a 45 minute video on this topic. Tomorrow we are meeting with ANOTHER person who will be explaining compression sleeves and everything else we may have missed today! That is an hour and a half appointment. I really have to question how people do this during their lunch time.  I was very worried because my "dry run" was postponed because of service issues but I did get in just a bit later. I was shown where to go to change and wait to be called. This is apparently where I meet friends.  I was taken to the same machine as previously but this time measurements were taken and x-rays and a gazillion other things. Dr. K came in and everyone was impressed by how well I did.....seriously...holding my bre
